How to use
- Restore a known monitor preset and stabilize room lighting.
- Open one pattern at a time and follow the guidance shown by the tool.
- Make small adjustments, compare, and return to the previous setting if detail is lost.
When to use
- Observing crushed shadows or clipped highlights.
- Visually comparing two displays under the same conditions.
Limitations
Evaluation is subjective. Patterns do not measure gamma, luminance, gamut, PWM, physical resolution or refresh rate and do not replace instruments.
Questions
- Should I change brightness or contrast?
- It depends on the monitor. Read its manual, change one variable at a time, and keep a known preset for comparison.
- Can I use this for color work?
- As a preliminary check, yes. For color decisions, calibrate and profile the monitor with suitable hardware and software.
